|
|
|
Based on the feedback of
the earlier mobile health projects and the community needs,
the Foundation in association with two NGOs, namely, SWAASTHYA,
New Delhi and Community Aid Sponsorship Programme (CASP),
Delhi initiated this project. Over a three-year period, the
project intends to cover the field areas of Tigri Resettlement
Colony and Nagla Machi Slums of SWAASTHYA with a population
of about 30,000 and eight centres in Badarpur Slum of CASP
with a population of about a hundred thousand. |
| |
| The objective of the project is to improve the
reproductive and sexual health status of women and adolescent
girls by providing RCH services through a comprehensive package.
The strategy for SWAASTHYA involves delivery of quality RCH
services through mobile van and demand generation for reproductive
and sexual health issues and services through IEC and BCC.
The strategy for CASP involves delivery of quality RCH services
through a mobile van and awareness generation and capacity
building for strengthening clinical services through Bal Panchayat
representatives, Income Generation Groups and Community Health
Guides. |
| |
The IEC activities on RCH issues comprising focus group discussions, home visits,
street-plays, rallies, demonstrations, exhibitions and workshops were being carried
out in the project areas. Training of TBAs and community health workers was conducted
on maternal and childcare, family planning, RTI/STI/HIV/AIDS, chronic diseases
and hygiene and sanitation, during the year under report.
