Country Goal

This component aims at improving survival and quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS and at reducing HIV transmission. It has two objectives:

Country objective

To reduce morbidity and mortality associated with HIV/AIDS and the transmission of HIV in six high prevalence States and Delhi by combining care, treatment (including antiretroviral treatment), prevention and support.

Strategy 

1. ART will be provided at the public teaching institutions and district level hospitals.

2. Treatment adherence and care & support will be provided by the NGO/Private sectors.

 Principal Recipients

1. NACO is the Principal Recipient of funds for the Public sector activities.
   

2. Population Foundation of India is the Principal Recipient of funds for the NGO/Private sector activities.

Project Area

 6 high prevalence states of India: Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Manipur and Nagaland
