Human Capacity Development Workshop
 

A workshop on Human Capacity Development was organized by the Management Sciences for Health (MSH), USA at the Population Foundation of India on December 20-21, 2004. The participants included persons from the Community Aid and Sponsorship Programme – Delhi, Himalayan Institute of Hospital Trust, Child in Need Institute, Sate AIDS Control Societies of Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and the Population Foundation of India. The objectives of the workshop were:

 
(i)
To use the Human Capacity Development (HCD) framework to analyze the HIV/AIDS environment and identify short and long-term goals for human resource management (HRM); leaderships; partnerships; legal, policy and financial requirements.
 
(ii)
To use the HRM assessment tool to assess the HRM capacity in their respective organizations.
 
(iii)

To use the management and leadership framework to assess the leadership capacity in their respective organizations.

 
(iv)

To identify the specific HRM, leadership and partnership issues those require attention in their own organizations and programmes, and

 
(v)
To develop outline action plans to address these issues at project level.
