The
Foundation in collaboration with the Population Reference
Bureau, Washington DC, published the chart book on HIV/AIDS
for India and six fact sheets for the high prevalence states,
namely, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra,
Manipur and Nagaland in the first phase. The project was
funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, USA.
Based on the encouraging
feedback on the publications, PFI and PRB have again joined
hands to carry out similar exercise for some selected states.
The main objective of the second phase of the publications
is to develop and bring out State level chartbooks for Karnataka,
Delhi and Tamil Nadu illustrating the threat that HIV/AIDS
poses, in a clear and succinct format, bringing needed information
on the disease to a wider audience.
